Who we are

Gorton Solutions is an owner-operated tech services business based in Blue Ridge, GA. This policy covers all data collected through our website at gorton-solutions.web.app (and any custom domain pointing to it).

What we collect

We only collect information that you voluntarily provide or that is necessary for our services to function.

• Account / profile — If you sign in (Google, Apple, or email), we store your display name, email, optional phone number, profile photo URL, and which sign-in provider you used. Anonymous visitors are assigned a temporary anonymous ID so we can track activity within a single session without identifying you personally.
• Activity data — With your consent (banner on first visit), we record page views, button clicks, time spent on each page, scroll depth, the page you arrived from, and any UTM campaign parameters. This is stored in our Firebase Firestore database under your user record.
• Chat conversations — When you use the AI intake chat, your messages, name, phone number, email, and project description are stored in our Firebase Firestore database so we can follow up on your inquiry. Conversations are linked to your user ID if you are signed in.
• Game leaderboard data — If you sign in to post a leaderboard score on one of our engagement games, your display name, profile photo URL, and score are stored in Firebase Realtime Database. Best scores are mirrored to your user profile.
• Theme preference & consent choice — Your light/dark theme choice and your activity-tracking consent decision are saved in your browser’s local storage so we don’t prompt you again. They are never sent to us.

We do not use third-party advertising trackers, marketing cookies, or analytics services like Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc. All data lives inside our own Firebase project (gorton-solutions) and is not shared with anyone.

You can decline activity tracking from the consent banner at any time. Declining stops all activity collection but does not affect your ability to use the site.

How we use your information

• Chat data is used solely to respond to your inquiry, prepare a quote, or schedule service. When your intake conversation is complete, a summary email is sent to our team so we can follow up with you.
• Profile + phone number are used only for project follow-ups when you have actively contacted us. We do not run marketing campaigns or send unsolicited messages.
• Activity data is used internally to understand which pages and features are useful, improve the site, and prioritize support. It is reviewed only by the site owner through a private admin dashboard and is never shared.
• Leaderboard data is used only to display scores on the game leaderboard.

To request a copy or deletion of your data, email contact@gortonsolutions.com from the email address tied to your account.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate our website:

• Google Firebase (Hosting, Cloud Functions, Firestore, Realtime Database, Authentication) — governed by Firebase Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
• Google Gemini AI — powers the intake chat assistant. Your messages are sent to Google’s Gemini API for processing. Google’s API data usage policies apply.
• Google Sign-In — used for optional leaderboard authentication. We receive your display name, email, and profile photo URL from Google. We do not access any other Google account data.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone outside of the services listed above.

Data retention

• Chat conversations are retained in Firestore indefinitely so we can reference your inquiry if you contact us again. You may request deletion at any time by emailing us.
• Leaderboard scores are retained as long as the game is active. You may request removal of your scores by emailing us.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information.
• Deletion — ask us to delete your data from our systems.
• Withdraw consent — stop using our chat or leaderboard features at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@gortonsolutions.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Our backend runs on Google Cloud infrastructure with Firebase’s built-in security controls. Access to our Firebase project is limited to the business owner.

No passwords are stored on this site. Sign-in is delegated to Google (or to a name/email form that does not verify a password). We never see, transmit, or store your Google password — that always stays with Google. The admin dashboard for the site owner is gated by a separate password held only as a server-side secret and is rate-limited against guessing.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-party breaches

This site relies on third-party services (Firebase / Google Cloud, Google identity, OAuth providers, and our email sender). We do not control those providers’ internal security and cannot be held liable for incidents that originate with them. If a third-party breach exposes data we stored with that provider, we will:

• Notify affected users by email at the address on file, where reasonably possible;
• Post a notice on this page describing what data was implicated;
• Cooperate with the provider’s investigation and remediation;
• Revoke and rotate any credentials, secrets, or keys we control.

Because we never store passwords, a breach of our database cannot leak your password to anyone. For a fuller statement of liability, see Section 9 of the Terms of Service.

Children’s privacy

Our services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
